How to make an SRT file from lyrics
Add audio and lyrics
Choose a local song and paste the final lyrics with one display line per row.
Tap the starts
Press Space as each line begins. Rewind or undo immediately if a mark feels late.
Review and export
Edit any start time, then download SRT or VTT for video subtitles, or LRC for synced lyrics.
Timing tips
- Prepare the final line breaks before timing. Short lines are easier to read in lyric videos.
- Use headphones and mark the first sung syllable, not the instrumental lead-in.
- If you miss a line, undo once, rewind three seconds, and continue instead of restarting the whole song.
Lyrics timestamp generator FAQ
Does this generate the lyrics automatically?
No. This first version is a manual sync tool. You provide the correct lyrics and mark when each line starts.
What is the difference between SRT, LRC, and VTT?
SRT and VTT are subtitle formats used by video editors and players. LRC is a timed-lyrics format commonly paired with music files.
Can I correct a timestamp?
Yes. Undo the latest mark or edit any start time in the timeline before export.
Is my song uploaded?
No. The audio is opened with a temporary local browser URL and remains on your device.
Why can the timing still look late?
Manual timing follows your key press and device playback latency. Review names, line breaks, and fast passages before publishing.
